Fishing Report 5/28/25

It’s official…we are on Brown Drake Watch 2025!

Will the Drakes appear this week? Current conditions indicate that we could see Brown Drakes at any time. Recent hot, dry weather could spur the big bugs at any moment, so if the Drakes are your thing, now is the time to make Silver Creek your home and to stand the nightly vigil.

We are loaded with Brown Drake patterns at the moment, but once the hatch happens, we sell out fast. Get your big bugs now.

Keep following our social media channels for up-to-date information on Brown Drake 2025. Feel free to give us a call or stop in the shop as well; we are always happy to help!

The Opening Weekend was a TREMENDOUS success, and we want to thank everyone who came out to see us. Thanks as well to our incredible vendors, who made our killer raffle possible. We hope everyone who came had as great a time as we did!

Silver Creek is fishing well with a variety of bugs; primarily PMDs, ants, and beetles, along with a smattering of BWOs and Callibaetis. Hatches have been somewhat inconsistent but select times on the Creek have been excellent. Expect to see these hatches continue for the next several weeks, and when fishing the Creek, be prepared to match all these bugs (and all life stages).

With the hot weather, the Big Wood River, Salmon River, and Copper Basin waters are all on the rise and will be unfishable for the time being. We will keep you posted on current conditions but expect great conditions and fishing by the end of June.

The Big Lost River below Mackay Reservoir is flowing at 430 CFS, so wading conditions and access there are challenging at the moment.

The South Fork Boise is at 1200 CFS, which is a great level for floating. Nymphing will be most productive until the arrival of the Salmonflies towards the end of June.

Local Stillwater fisheries are producing with leech and chironomid patterns.

We have tons of new product in the shop, so please come in and see us!

Happy Fishing Everyone!
